13.10.2013 — 18.10.2013Volker Reiche and Andreas Platthaus (ed.) read from Reiche’s autobiographical graphic novel "Kiesgrubennacht". Originals of the book as well as paintings and works on paper will be shown that have found their way into the graphic novel.
2002-2010 Reiche drew with “Strizz” the most successful German newspaper comic for the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" with the following awards: Max und Moritz Prize of the city of Erlangen, Olaf Gulbransson price, Swift price of the Market Economy Foundation. 2006 award as "Best German comic artist". In his autobiographical major work "Kiesgrubennacht" Volker Reiche – in a manner never seen in comic – accounts for what made him become an artist and about life as a child in post-war.
